We've finished Media Center Orientation but it looked a little different this year. Students participated in a QR (Quick Response) code scavenger hunt around the Media Center to learn the rules and expectations instead of sitting and listening to Mrs. Rogers & Mrs. Reedy telling them all the blah, blah, blah... Students & Staff were excited about getting to discover the Media Center in small groups and getting some practice with the iPad 2 tablets that we were able to borrow from the AEA & Mr. Morlan.
Our teachers even got in on the fun and developed some ideas for using tablets in their classrooms to support learning. Here's Mrs. Krusemark taking one of the tablets for a spin. ----> Keep your eyes open for more QR codes around the building at Bunger this year. There is a book trailer bulletin board in the Media Center now. You can borrow Mrs. Rogers' tablet to scan the QR codes and instantly watch book trailers to help you find your next Independent Reading book. We are also working on adding QR Codes to the cover of books that have book trailers on YouTube. And, our teachers are planning ways to display and share student work using QR codes later this year. How cool is that? Check out the slideshow of students exploring the Media Center below: |
