Attention students! Do you have late or overdue book fines but no Smarties to pay them off? Well, you're in luck! Next week is FINE FORGIVENESS WEEK in the Media Center! All you have to do is mention "Fine Forgiveness Week" to Mrs. Hinders or Mrs. Reedy when you visit the Media Center any time next week. We will forgive your late and overdue fines and delete them from your account--NO SMARTIES NEEDED! (Please note: Monetary fines for lost books CANNOT be forgiven during Fine Forgiveness Week. These fines will still need to be taken care of through the office.)

Lots of students are asking about the Walking Dead books and whether or not we can get them in our library. The answer, unfortunately, is no. The Walking Dead books are not like other graphic novels--they are actually collections of the Walking Dead comics, which were written for adults. They have adult themes, graphic violence, and sexual content. I think many of our Bunger students are mature enough to handle these kinds of issues--in fact, some of the novels in our library contain these same controversial themes. However, we cannot have books in the library that have pictures or graphics that depict adult themes--particularly when it comes to sexual content and nudity. The Waterloo Public Library has the books available. If you are really interested in reading them, check with you parents first!

This was a tough read--brutal violence against others and characters who bring out both love and hatred. Beautifully done, but heartbreakingly so.
